Figo, the Hero service animal jumps in front of his owner, Audrey Stone and takes the brunt of the mini school bus to save his owner. Stone was taken to the local hospital in Connecticut with three broken ribs, a broken ankle and elbow, while Figo was transported to the local vets via a Fire truck since he needed immediate medical attention.
However, per the The Americans with Disabilities Act, (1990), a non-injured service animal would have been transported to the hospital with its owner, since owner and service animal are not to be separated and the hospital would be obliged to provide accommodation in the hospital room for Figo and Stone.
Both are recovering from their injuries and we hope they'll be together very soon,
