Update: Woman Reunites with her Guide Dog Figo from my June 11th, 2015 Blog Post

*By Jennifer Peltz, Associated Press, Brewster, NY- Oct. 26, 2015

Hi All,

I hope you remember when I posted about a very special guide dog named Figo who suffered a terrible gash in his leg by displaying absolute bravery when he saved his "mom's" life.

Well, not only have Figo and Audrey reunited, Figo has been voted Dog of the Year by The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals! I'm so proud of Figo and I saw this update online today and wanted to share it with you.

Audrey Stone, who is legally blind, was hit by a school minibus last last June she was crossing the street. She was saved by Figo, her golden retriever who jumped in between her and the school minibus, saving her life.  Stone, who has spent months in a rehabilitation center was determined to get well and welcome Figo home. Figo suffered a serious gash in his leg but both are continuing to recuperate at home.
